If Your Kid Loves Corduroy, They’ll Love These 6 Other Teddy Bear Books
by Janssen Bradshaw
When my oldest daughter was nearly two, my parents gave her a Corduroy book with a matching stuffed bear.
She LOVED that book and bear and carried them around for weeks. We probably read Corduroy a hundred or more times over the next few months, and every time we read it, I felt delighted to be sharing such a classic book with my daughter.
If your child is equally enamored with Corduroy, here are some other teddy bear books that will appeal to your little bear lover.

Tea Party Rules
Available from:When a bear cub discovers a little backyard tea party, he pretends to be a stuffed teddy bear so he can have a cookie. But he gets more than he bargained for when the tea party hostess turns out to have strong opinions about how a bear must behave at teatime. If you can make it all the way through this book without snorting with laughter, you are a stronger woman than I am!

Little Bear
Aside from Corduroy, I’m not sure there is any bear as beloved as Little Bear. In this original volume, he plays in the snow, celebrates his birthday, and visits the moon, all under the loving guidance of his wise bear mother who plays along with him.
-
Jamberry
I remember this delightful rhyming book about a little boy and a bear from my childhood and now love reading it to my own children. It’s just bursting with color and exuberance, and the board book version makes a perfect baby shower gift.

Blueberries for Sal
Available from:This book is my favorite Robert McCloskey title (he’s best known for Make Way for Ducklings). Sal and her mother go blueberry picking, but unbeknownst to them, there is a mother bear and her cub eating their way through blueberries too. Of course, it’s only a matter of time until they get mixed up!

Dog and Bear: Two Friends, Three Stories
This dog and bear series is sweet and slyly funny, as the two enjoy life together. The sparse drawings are the perfect complement to their adventures. It’s great for reading aloud with its three not-too-long stories.
