Brightly Storytime: Joan Procter, Dragon Doctor
by the Brightly Editors
For our latest Brightly Storytime, we’ve selected a picture book biography about scientist Joan Procter. Growing up in the early 1900s, Joan preferred to spend her time with reptiles while other girls her age were playing with dolls. Her love for reptiles eventually led her to the British Museum, where she became Curator of Reptiles, designed the new Reptile House, and formed a life-long bond with a Komodo dragon named Sumbawa. Read along with Ms. Linda and learn all about the amazing life of this pioneering female scientist.
