Author Bio

Andrew Gold was a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, and producer who worked on everything from TV theme songs (including "Thank You For Being a Friend" for The Golden Girls), to Linda Ronstadt records (like her breakthrough album Heart Like a Wheel), to his own top-40 hits, such as "Lonely Boy"—and so much more. In 1996, he released the album Halloween Howls: Fun & Scary Music, which included “Spooky, Scary Skeletons,” along with eight other original scary tunes. The universe is truly more fun and scary thanks to his music!

Polona Lovšin has always been drawn to projects that express her artistic creativity, particularly those that make life’s difficult moments, such as separation or death, more accessible to children. Inspired by her older brother’s drawing ability, she developed a fascination for detailed and character-rich illustrations, often losing herself in them for hours. Her work is further inspired by her two daughters and two playful corgis.

Reviews

"The illustrations loosely take inspiration from the lyrics and serve as the primary driver for the storytelling. They make excellent use of fall colors and exude a sunset glow that truly evokes Halloween." —Kirkus Reviews

"Lovsin’s vibrant, full-color illustrations in warm fall shades feel alive, as if each brushstroke dances along with the melody.... making it easy to get caught up in the holiday spirit. Grab a copy of this book to bring some musical magic and fun to holiday reading!" —School Library Journal
